Nach dem Besuch der pulsierenden Meir können Sie die Ruhe auf dem idyllischen Hendrik Conscienceplein genießen und sich ein wenig erholen. Man fühlt sich hier fast wie auf einer Piazza in Italien. Der Blick auf die wunderbare St. Carolus Borromeuskirche ist atemberaubend. Die Barockkirche wurde zwischen 1615 und 1621 von Jesuiten errichtet, aber auch Rubens hat am Entwurf der Fassade und der Bekrönung des Turms mitgewirkt.
Ein Besuch der Kirche ist aufgrund des Coronavirus zurzeit leider nicht möglich. Sie können sich aber in einen der kleinen Biergärten oder an den Springbrunnen auf dem Platz setzen und von dort aus die Fassade bewundern. Noch ein Tipp: Die St. Carolus Borromeuskirche hat natürlich auch eine Rückseite. Gehen Sie einfach kurz um die Ecke: Dort können Sie den Kirchturm viel besser sehen.
