Die Bleiche für Leinengewebe, die Joseph Alsberge und Auguste Van Oost 1879 gründeten, entwickelt sich zu einer der wichtigsten ihrer Art und zählt Hunderte von Arbeitern. Nachdem 1978 der Vorhang fällt, brechen Jahrzehnte des Leerstands und Vandalismus an. Heute beherbergt die Fabrik neue Wohnungen, aber das Kesselhaus und der Maschinenraum warten noch auf die Restaurierung.
