Der Golfparcours des Royal Golf Club du Sart-Tilman wurde 1939 von Tom Simpson auf den Höhen von Lüttich angelegt. Von all seinen Golfplätzen in Belgien ist er auf diesen besonders stolz. Dieser Parcours ist ein wahres Wunderwerk und bemerkenswert, da der berühmte britische Architekt von Parcours in Spa, Ravenstein, Mons und Antwerpen hier mit unwirtlichen Naturgegebenheiten und einem begrenzten Budget konfrontiert war. Nach dem Abholzen einer 20 ha großen Fläche, dem Entfernen von 14000 Baumstümpfen und dem Auftragen von 5000 m³ Erde meisterte er diese Herausforderung jedoch vorzüglich.
