Im Jahr 1732 wurde die erste Kirche Wirklichkeit. Der Architekt war Paul Merckaert aus Brüssel. 1877 wurde beschlossen, die Kirche zu vergrößern. Der Umbau wurde 1888 abgeschlossen. Die St. Amanduskirche wurde zusammen mit den Dries 1956 als geschütztes Erbe klassifiziert. Die Restaurierung der Kirche wurde 2002 abgeschlossen.
