„Der Dicke von Sesjans“, ein bronzenes Pferd, steht am Straßenrand des Hofes, über den er einst herrschte. Das Kunstwerk stammt von Jan Desmarets. „Der Dicke“ war im echten Leben ein Deckhengst und somit einer der Stammväter dessen, was später das Belgische Kaltblut werden sollte. Charles-Louis Matthijs (1796-1890) ließ sich hier als Landwirt und Hengsthalter nieder und war bereits 1842 aktiv in der Pferdezucht tätig. Sein berühmtestes Pferd - damals noch nicht im Zuchtbuch - war Jan, der Dicke von Matthijs oder von Hemelveerdegem oder … der Dicke von Sesjans (Verballhornung von Sint Jans). Jetzt wacht er misstrauisch über seinen Hof, mit dem Hintern zum Publikum. Der restaurierte Hof ist jetzt … ein Pferdepension.
