Diese Kirche ersetzte wahrscheinlich im 12. Jahrhundert ein Oratorium, das den Heiligen Timotheus und Symphorian gewidmet war.
Es handelt sich um einen gotischen Bau aus Maaser Kalkstein, der mehrfach renoviert wurde, aber vermutlich aus der zweiten Hälfte des 15. Jahrhunderts stammt. Es handelte sich um eine „unabhängige“ Kirche, da es sich nicht um ein Pfarrhaus handelte. Im Jahr 1598 wurde die Kirche Saint-Martin-en-Fouarge angegliedert.
Im Sommer 1322 beschlagnahmten die Hutois im Streit mit der Grafschaft Namur die Glocken der befestigten Burg Wasseiges. Das größte nannten sie „Wasseiges“ und ließen es im Glockenturm der Saint-Mengold-Kirche in Huy installieren.
Heute ist diese entsakralisierte Kirche (seit 1979) ein Veranstaltungsort, der vom Centre Culturel de l'Arrondissement de Huy verwaltet wird.
