Die Ackerlandschaft von Sint-Margriete-Houtem liegt etwas außerhalb der Reichweite der Stadt Tienen. Diese Wanderung führt Sie durch offene Felder und gelegentlich tauchen Sie etwas tiefer in einen schönen Hohlweg ein. Beim Gehöft Muizenbeemd entspringt der Genoveva-Bach. Hier muss das Dorf aus einem Ritterhof im 9. Jahrhundert entstanden sein. Der Hof hieß Houtheem, was so viel wie 'Haus am Wald' bedeutet.
