Moudon ist eine politische Gemeinde des Bezirks Broye-Vully des Kantons Waadt in der Schweiz. Zu römischer Zeit hiess der Ort Minnodunum. Der frühere deutsche Name Milden wird heute nicht mehr verwendet. Die Gemeinde mit einer historischen Altstadt liegt im mittleren Broyetal.
Moudon liegt auf 510 m ü. M., 19,5 km südwestlich des Bezirkhauptortes Payerne . Die historische Stadt erstreckt sich im mittleren Broyetal, beidseits der Broye, im Bereich der Mündung des Flüsschens Mérine, umgeben von den Höhen des Molassehügellandes im östlichen Waadtländer Mittelland.
