Thun ist eine Einwohnergemeinde und der Hauptort des Verwaltungskreises Thun des Schweizer Kantons Bern.
Thun wird als Tor zum Berner Oberland bezeichnet. Die Stadt liegt am Ausfluss der Aare aus dem Thunersee. Thun ist die grösste Garnisonsstadt der Schweizer Armee und die elftgrösste Stadt der Schweiz. Die Agglomeration Thun umfasst etwa 90'000 Einwohner.
