Der Oberaarsee ist der höchst gelegene Stausee im Quellgebiet der Aare im Kanton Bern . Er befindet sich unterhalb des Oberaargletschers. Ihm folgen die Aare-Stauseen Grimselsee und Räterichsbodensee, zwei weitere von mehreren Stauseen, die die Wasserkraftwerke der Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG speisen.
Mit Fahrzeugen ist der See vom Grimselpass aus auf einer Einbahnstraße , von der aus der Unteraargletscher und der Grimselsee gut zu sehen sind, zu erreichen. Eine kraftwerkeigene Luftseilbahn führt auch im Winter bis zur Staumauer.
