Das Grenet der Stadt wurde 1808 nach den Plänen des Lausanner Architekten Jean-Abraham Fraisse am Rande des Place du Marché erbaut. Es hat die Form einer Markthalle, die von 18 toskanischen Säulen aus schwarzem Marmor des Heiligen Triphon begrenzt wird. Gleich nebenan, im gleichen klassizistischen Stil erbaut, befindet sich das "Hay Weight Building", in dem die in der Stadt ankommenden Heuwagen gewogen wurden und das heute einen Souvenirkiosk beherbergt.
Die Grenette sowie der Marktplatz, an den sie grenzt, sind als Schweizer Kulturgut von nationaler Bedeutung gelistet. Das Gebäude wird derzeit vom örtlichen Fremdenverkehrsamt genutzt, das dort seine Büros hat.
