Das eigentliche Bankgeschäft wird von der Tochtergesellschaft Credit Suisse AG wahrgenommen und das schweizerische Geschäft seit November 2016 von der Credit Suisse AG .
Die Bank ist eine der 29 systemrelevanten Grossbanken, die vom Finanzstabilitätsrat als systemisch bedeutsames Finanzinstitut eingestuft wurden. Sie unterliegt damit einer besonderen Überwachung und strengeren Anforderungen an die Ausstattung mit Eigenkapital. Die Aufsichtsfunktion nimmt die Eidgenössische Finanzmarktaufsicht wahr.
