Die Schafmatt ist ein Passübergang vom solothurnischen Rohr ins basellandschaftliche Oltingen. Die Passhöhe befindet sich auf 820 m ü. M. an der Flurgrenze der gleichnamigen typischen offenen Juraweide. Die Strasse verläuft südlich unterhalb der Geissflue.
Die Passstrasse ist schmal und durchgehend asphaltiert. Es besteht kein Anschluss an den öffentlichen Verkehr. Unterhalb des Berghauses der Naturfreunde Aarau, das Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten anbietet, findet sich ein geräumiger Parkplatz. Am Wochenende wird dort ein Restaurationsbetrieb angeboten. Die Schafmatt ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel.
