Ebnat war eine politische Gemeinde im Wahlkreis Toggenburg, Kanton St. Gallen, Schweiz. Am 1. Januar 1965 fusionierte Ebnat mit der ehemaligen Gemeinde Kappel zur Gemeinde Ebnat-Kappel. Ebnat ist heute ein Ortsteil der Ortschaft Ebnat-Kappel.
Ebnat liegt im Toggenburg im Thurtal zwischen Nesslau und Wattwil.
Das Strassendorf mit ausgedehnter Streusiedlung befindet sich in voralpiner Hügellandschaft beidseits des Tals.
