Basel-Landschaft ist ein Kanton in der Deutschschweiz. Er zählt zum Wirtschaftsraum Nordwestschweiz und zur grenzüberschreitenden Metropolregion Basel. Der Hauptort ist Liestal, der einwohnerstärkste Ort hingegen Allschwil bei Basel.
Der Kanton grenzt im Westen an Frankreich, im Norden an Basel und an Deutschland. Im Südwesten folgt die Kantonsgrenze zum Kanton Jura der französisch-deutschen Sprachgrenze der Schweiz. Das Kantonsgebiet reicht von einigen Vorstadtgemeinden bei Basel im Norden über kleinstädtische Strukturen rund um den Kantonshauptort Liestal bis zu grossen Wald- und Gebirgsflächen um die Juratäler im Süden.
