Diemelsee ist eine Gemeinde in Nordhessen im Landkreis Waldeck-Frankenberg. Sie liegt im Waldeckschen Upland und damit im hessischen Teil des östlichen Sauerlands, der hier Upland genannt wird. Der Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung befindet sich in Adorf. Die Gemeinde ist Hessens flächengrößte Gemeinde ohne Stadtrecht und findet sich auf Rang 13 in der Liste der 100 flächengrößten Gemeinden Hessens. Diemelsee entstand 1971 durch einen Zusammenschluss von zuvor dreizehn selbstständigen Gemeinden.
