Kriftel ist eine Gemeinde mit 11.020 Einwohnern im südhessischen Main-Taunus-Kreis und liegt zentral im Rhein-Main-Gebiet zwischen Frankfurt am Main und der Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden.
Kriftel wird „Obstgarten des Vordertaunus“ genannt, da auf den Feldern, die um die Gemeinde liegen, neben Getreide Obst angebaut wird, vor allem Erdbeeren und Äpfel. Das herrschende Klima begünstigt den Obstanbau.
