Die Gemeinde Keltern liegt am Rande des Nordschwarzwaldes in 190 bis 270 Meter Höhe in einer Hügellandschaft, nahe den Großstädten Pforzheim und Karlsruhe . Der Nordschwarzwald endet 7 km südlich von Keltern in der Gemeinde Straubenhardt. In Keltern geht der Tannenwald in Laubwald über. Das relativ milde Klima in Keltern ist durch das Rheintal bei Karlsruhe sowie durch das Pfinztal geprägt. Dadurch kann in Keltern Wein angebaut werden.
