Kalkhorst ist eine Gemeinde im äußersten Nordwesten des Landkreises Nordwestmecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern . Die Gemeinde wird vom Amt Klützer Winkel mit Sitz in Klütz verwaltet.
Zusammen mit den nördlichen Ortsteilen der Kleinstadt Dassow bildet das Gemeindegebiet Kalkhorsts den nordwestlichsten Zipfel Mecklenburgs. Die Ortsteile Groß Schwansee und Brook liegen nur wenige Meter von der Ostsee entfernt. Der Küstenabschnitt besteht aus Steilufern, von denen das Kleinklützhöved nahe dem Ortsteil Warnkenhagen mit 31 Metern Höhe hervorzuheben ist. Die höchste Erhebung in der Gemeinde und des gesamten Klützer Winkels ist der Hohe Schönberg mit 89 m ü. NN.
