Enger [ˈʔɛŋɐ] ist eine kreisangehörige Stadt im Südwesten des ostwestfälischen Kreises Herford im Nordosten von Nordrhein-Westfalen. Mit knapp über 20.000 Einwohnern ist Enger nach Definition eine Mittelstadt. Die Stadt Enger führt seit dem 19. März 2012 offiziell den Beinamen Widukindstadt, weil in der Stadt der Sachsenherzog Widukind begraben sein soll. Enger wurde 804 erstmals schriftlich erwähnt und hat seit 1719 das Stadtrecht.
