Teltow ['tɛltoː, ] ist mit rund 27.000 Einwohnern die bevölkerungsreichste Stadt im brandenburgischen Landkreis Potsdam-Mittelmark. Sie liegt direkt am südwestlichen Stadtrand von Berlin.
Der Ort Teltow wurde erstmals in einer Urkunde von Markgraf Otto III. im Jahr 1265 erwähnt und war 1375 auch im Landbuch Karls IV. verzeichnet. Wahrzeichen Teltows ist die in der Altstadt gelegene Stadtkirche St. Andreas, deren Ursprünge in das 12. Jahrhundert zurückreichen. Nach der Eröffnung des Teltowkanal im Jahre 1906 entwickelte sich die kleine Ackerbürgerstadt zu einer Industriestadt. Die Teltower nennen ihre Stadt selbst auch Rübchenstadt nach den Teltower Rübchen, einer seit über 300 Jahren rund um Teltow angebauten Speiserübe.
