Westerburg ist eine Stadt im Westerwaldkreis in Rheinland-Pfalz. Sie ist Verwaltungssitz der Verbandsgemeinde Westerburg, der sie angehört. Westerburg ist gemäß Landesplanung als Mittelzentrum ausgewiesen.
Westerburg befindet sich im Oberen Westerwald im Nordosten von Rheinland-Pfalz und ist nur wenige Kilometer von der Grenze zu Hessen entfernt. Das Zentrum der Stadt liegt im Tal des Schafbachs, das den Schlossberg mit der alten Oberstadt und dem Schloss umgibt. In der Nähe des Marktplatzes fließt der Hülsbach in den Schafbach.
