Kelsterbach ist eine Stadt im hessischen Kreis Groß-Gerau mit 17.013 Einwohnern . Sie liegt am südwestlichen Stadtrand von Frankfurt am Main in einem Flussbogen am linken Mainufer, unmittelbar an der Mündung der Kelster .
Das ursprünglich weitgehend landwirtschaftlich geprägte Dorf wandelte sich nach dem Bau der Bahnlinie Frankfurt–Mainz ab dem Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts stark. Die Ansiedlung großer Fabriken und die Nachbarschaft zu den Chemiewerken in Höchst am Main und Griesheim zog einen großen Bevölkerungszuwachs nach sich. In den Jahrzehnten nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg kamen viele Unternehmen hinzu, die mit dem nahe gelegenen Frankfurter Flughafen in Beziehung stehen. Die Stadt ist bedeutender Standort für Logistikdienstleister und chemische Produktion.
