Der südwestliche Vorort von Schweinfurt liegt am rechten Ufer des Mains. Typisch für den Ortskern des einstigen Straßendorfes sind die traufseitigen Natursteinhäuser. Bergrheinfeld liegt am Nordrand des Fränkischen Weinlandes. Überregional ist Bergrheinfeld als wichtiger deutscher Stromleitungsknoten und ein Ende von Suedlink bekannt.
Bergrheinfeld liegt im waldarmen Westen des Schweinfurter Beckens, zwischen Main und Wern. Die Fluren werden von Ackerbau und Hochspannungsleitungen geprägt. Am östlichen und südlichen Rand des Gemeindegebietes liegen Auwälder und zahlreiche kleinere Seen . Im Ortsteil Garstadt wird im kleinen Maße Weinbau betrieben .
