Die Gemeinde Groß Ippener grenzt im Norden an die Stadt Delmenhorst, im Osten an die Gemeinde Stuhr, im Südosten an die Gemeinde Kirchseelte, im Süden an die Gemeinde Dünsen, im Südwesten an die Gemeinde Harpstedt und im Westen an die Gemeinde Prinzhöfte.
