Ipsheim liegt im Oberen Aischtal, das zum Rangau gehört. Die Landschaft wird dominiert von der Burg Hoheneck, die über dem Ort liegt. Der Markt befindet sich in den Naturparks Frankenhöhe und Steigerwald. In Ipsheim herrscht der Ansbacher Dialekt als Variante des Fränkischen vor.
