Neuss ist eine Großstadt in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Sie liegt am linken Niederrhein auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite von Düsseldorf und ist mit rund 150.000 Einwohnern Deutschlands größte kreisangehörige Stadt und als Mittelzentrum zugleich größte Stadt des Rhein-Kreises Neuss. Auf der Liste der Großstädte in Deutschland belegt sie Platz 54. Die Stadt ist vor allem für ihre römische Vergangenheit, den Rheinhafen und das Neusser Bürger-Schützenfest bekannt. 1984 beging sie ihre 2000-Jahr-Feier und zählt damit zu den ältesten Städten Deutschlands.
