Die Region Köln/Bonn ist das Zentrum des Ballungsraums zwischen Kölner Bucht und Oberbergischem Land mit gut vier Millionen Einwohnern und zugleich das rheinische Bevölkerungszentrum der Metropolregion Rheinland mit rund neun Millionen Einwohnern.
