Lübeck ist eine Stadt, die auf jeden Fall einen Tagesausflug oder ein Wochenende wert ist. Diese Festungsstadt war das pulsierende Herz des Handels rund um die Ostsee und die Hansestädte. Von hier aus wurde das Salz, das aus Lüneburg angeliefert wurde, in zahlreiche Orte rund um die Ostsee und darüber hinaus versandt. Das Ergebnis all dieses Handels war ein beispielloser Reichtum in der Stadt, von dem noch viel zu sehen und zu bewundern ist. Die Schriftsteller und Brüder Heinrich und Thomas Mann, von denen letzterer den Nobelpreis für Literatur erhielt, wurden beide hier geboren. Hier kann man auch die halb geschmolzene Glocke aus der St. Petri-Kirche sehen, ein Relikt der heftigen bombardements aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.
