Die Burg Nideggen liegt auf einem Felsen. Der Grundstein der Burg wurde 1177 gelegt. 1979 wurde das Schlossmuseum im Wohnturm des Komplexes eröffnet.
In der Gegend rund um Nideggen gibt es viele bunte Sandsteinfelsen, die oft schöne Ausblicke auf die Umgebung von Nideggen und das Roertal bieten.
