Der Friedensengel erinnert an die 25 friedlichen Jahre nach dem Französisch-Deutschen Krieg von 1870/71. Das Denkmal mit seinem kleinen Tempel zeigt die Porträts der deutschen Kaiser Wilhelm I., Friedrich III., Wilhelm II., der bayerischen Herrscher Ludwig II., Otto und Luitpold, dem Reichskanzler Otto von Bismarck und den Generälen Helmuth von Moltke, Albrecht von Roon, Ludwig von der Tann, Jakob von Hartmann und Siegmund von Pranckh. In der Halle des Tempels befinden sich goldene Mosaiken, die die Allegorien von Krieg und Frieden, Sieg und Segen für die Kultur darstellen.
