Die Stadtbahn Hannover ist ein Verkehrssystem des öffentlichen Personennahverkehrs in der niedersächsischen Landeshauptstadt Hannover. Sie entstand durch den Umbau der hannoverschen Straßenbahn zu einem Stadtbahnsystem, das Elemente von Straßenbahn und U-Bahn vereint. Die Stadtbahn ist der bedeutendste Verkehrsträger in der Region Hannover. 2016 wurden rund 176 Millionen Fahrgäste damit befördert. Am Hauptbahnhof und sieben weiteren Stationen bestehen Umsteigemöglichkeiten zur S-Bahn Hannover, die die nähere und weitere Umgebung erschließt .
