Der Flughafen Braunschweig-Wolfsburg ist einer von zwei Verkehrsflughäfen des Landes Niedersachsen. Er liegt ca. 8 km nördlich der Stadt Braunschweig an der A 2 Hannover-Berlin. Er dient Industrie, Touristik und Luftsport in der Region und ist gleichzeitig ein bedeutendes Zentrum der luftfahrttechnischen Forschung; daher wird er auch „Forschungsflughafen“ genannt.
Der Flughafen im Stadtteil Waggum ist mit der Innenstadt Braunschweigs sowie dem Hauptbahnhof durch die Buslinien 413 und 436 verbunden. Der Flughafen liegt direkt an der A 2 und hat auch eine direkte Anschlussstelle. Außerdem befindet sich vor dem Flughafen Terminal ein Taxistand.
