Das Kreuzabnahmerelief an den Externsteinen ist ein großes, in den Sandstein der Externsteine im Teutoburger Wald gehauenes Relief, auf dem die Kreuzabnahme zu sehen ist. Es gilt als die älteste aus massivem Fels gehauene Steinmetz-Großplastik nördlich der Alpen.
Die Externsteine sind ein Sekundärgestein, also aus Sedimenten aufgebaut. Es handelt sich um einen Kalk-Sandstein, der recht weich und darum bildhauerisch leicht zu bearbeiten ist.
