Er wurde im Jahr 1446 als wüste dorfstede Glynick erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Am 31. Dezember 2002 schloss er sich mit dem bis dahin ebenfalls selbstständigen Sellendorf zur Gemeinde Steinreich zusammen. Sehenswert ist das Schloss, das von 1875 bis 1911 erbaut wurde. Zu ihm gehört ein acht Hektar großer Park mit einer künstlichen Korallentropfsteinhöhle.
