Das Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf ist ein naturwissenschaftliches Forschungszentrum im Dresdner Ortsteil Rossendorf und seit 1. Januar 2011 Mitglied der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren. Am HZDR wird in drei der sechs Forschungsbereiche der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft geforscht: Energie, Gesundheit und Materie. Das HZDR wurde als Forschungszentrum Rossendorf im Jahr 1992 gegründet. Das HZDR hat eine Gesamtfläche von 186 Hektar. Es befindet sich am Standort des 1956 gegründeten Zentralinstituts für Kernphysik in Dresden-Rossendorf.
Das HZDR forscht grundlagen- und anwendungsorientiert in den Bereichen Energie, Gesundheit und Materie.
