Bei diesem, von den Römern am Ende des zweiten Jahrhunderts (um 180 n. Chr.) errichteten, nördlichen Stadttor wird die
Rallye inoffiziell gestartet. Das gut erhaltene Tor (sechsunddreißig Meter breit; dreißig hoch) war Teil einer sechs Kilometer langen Stadtmauer. Es ist die deutlichste Erinnerung an die römische Zeit. Seinen Namen 'schwarzes Tor' verdankt es dem verwitterten Sandstein.
