Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium – Musikakademie in Frankfurt am Main wurde am 22. September 1878 als Stiftung des Frankfurter Bürgers Joseph Hoch als musikalisch-künstlerische Ausbildungsstätte für alle Altersstufen gegründet. In den ersten Jahrzehnten seines Bestehens erlangte es Weltruhm durch seine berühmten Lehrer wie Clara Schumann, Engelbert Humperdinck sowie Joachim Raff und zog begabte Schüler wie Hans Pfitzner, Alfred Hoehn, Edward MacDowell, Percy Grainger, Paul Hindemith, Ernst Toch und Otto Klemperer an.
