Der Schwarzwald ist eine große bewaldete Bergkette im Bundesland Baden-Württemberg im Südwesten Deutschlands. Es wird im Westen und Süden vom Rheintal begrenzt. Der höchste Gipfel ist der Feldberg mit einer Höhe von 1.493 Metern. Die Region ist mit einer Länge von 160 km und einer Breite von maximal 50 km ungefähr länglich.
