Das Dorf Vierbach liegt im Tal der Vierbach zwischen dem Komberg im Norden, dem Wernersberg im Nordosten, dem Dachsberg im Südsüdwesten und dem Zungenkopf im Südosten. Hindurch verläuft die Landesstraße 3243, die von Germerode durch Vierbach nach Reichensachsen führt.
Vierbach ist erst durch Beschluss vom 6. Dezember 1935 entstanden. Hierdurch wurden die beiden Orte Wipperode und Bernsdorf zur neuen Gemeinde Vierbach zusammengefasst.
