Die Ludwigshütte bei Biedenkopf war eine der bedeutendsten Eisenhütten in der nordwestlichen Lahn-Dill-Region und lag im nach ihr benannten Ortsteil Ludwigshütte der mittelhessischen Stadt Biedenkopf. Ihr Ursprung reicht bis in die erste Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts zurück. In den einschlägigen Akten des 16. bis 18. Jahrhunderts firmierte sie unter der Bezeichnung Hütte zu Biedenkopf. Ihren späteren Namen „Ludwigshütte“ erhielt sie erst in den 1770er Jahren und spätestens seit den Briefwechseln von Philipp Engel Klippstein „Geschichte und Beschreibung der Ludwigshütte und der dazu gehörigen Stabhämmer“ von 1781 hat sich der Name „Ludwigshütte“ eingebürgert.
