Albiol [1] ist eine Gemeinde in Katalonien, Spanien. Sie gehört zur Provinz Tarragona in der Comarca Bajo Campo. Laut Daten von 2017 hatte sie eine Bevölkerung von 479 Einwohnern.
Obwohl sie in Dokumenten erst 1158 erwähnt wird, glaubt man, dass es bereits vor diesem Datum eine Siedlung gab. Es gibt wenige Informationen über die ursprüngliche Herrschaft des Ortes. 1158 verlieh Ramón Berenguer IV. die Herrschaft an Joan de Martorell und beauftragte ihn mit der Wiederbesiedlung des Ortes. Als Martorell ins Seminar von Tarragona eintrat, übertrug er die Rechte an den Ländereien: ein Teil ging an die Kurie von Tarragona, während ein anderer Teil dem Bischof Hug de Cervelló übergeben wurde. 1198 wurde die volle Autorität des Klerus über die Ländereien anerkannt.
