Die Kirche des Sagrario wurde durch das Breve vom 12. Februar 1488 gegründet. Ursprünglich wurde sie an einer Ecke des Kreuzgangs der Orangenbäume erbaut, aber im 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Gebäude abgerissen, da es in schlechtem Zustand war, um ein neues zu errichten, das die für die Kathedrale gefertigte Fassade beinhaltete. Diese Fassade begann man 1514 zu bauen, sie wurde im offiziellen Stil der katholischen Kirche jener Zeit, also im isabelinischen gotischen Stil, errichtet. Der genaue Autor ist nicht bekannt, es wird jedoch angenommen, dass es entweder Pedro López, der Meister der Kathedrale von Jaén, oder der Bischof Fuente del Sauce gewesen sein könnte. Er wurde vom Bischof Diego Ramírez de Villaescusa de Haro initiiert und vom Bischof César Riario vollendet, dessen Wappen und Siegel sich an der Fassade befinden.
