Santanyí ist eine von 53 selbständigen Gemeinden auf der balearischen Mittelmeerinsel Mallorca. Sie liegt im Südosten der Insel und grenzt im Westen an die Gemeinde Ses Salines, im Norden an die Gemeinde Campos und im Osten an die Gemeinde Felanitx. Auf dem Gemeindegebiet liegen der Puig Gros sowie der Pena Bosca als höchste Erhebungen. Zum Gemeindegebiet von Santanyí gehört ein Küstenabschnitt von ca. 35 Kilometern. Dort findet man das Cap de ses Salines, das die südlichste Stelle der Insel Mallorca markiert.
