Der Riaza ist ein Fluss, der an der Quelle des Cancho entsteht, die im Buchenwald von Pedrosa liegt, 1 m von der Straße entfernt, die zum Pass von Quesera führt, im Gemeindegebiet von Riofrío de Riaza und mündet an seinem linken Ufer in den Fluss Duero, in Roa. Zu seinen Hauptzuflüssen gehören der Riaguas und der Aguisejo, der in Languilla an seinem rechten Ufer in ihn mündet. An seinem linken Ufer vereinigen sich der Bach Barahona und der Riofresno, bereits in der Nähe des Duero. Er bewässert ein Becken von 1082 Quadratkilometern und durchläuft 114 Kilometer von seiner Quelle bis zu seiner Mündung, wobei er die Provinzen Segovia und Burgos durchquert.
