Es war einer der drei Plätze, die der Stadt Albacete ihren Ursprung gaben, gelegen an den drei höchsten Punkten der manchensischen Stadt, wo jeweils Festungen errichtet wurden.[1] Auf einem alten Hügel, in höherer Lage im Vergleich zu seiner Umgebung, ist sie Fußgängerzone und wird über Treppen und Rampen erreicht. Sie beherbergt die Südseite der Kathedrale von San Juan de Albacete und das Denkmal der Jungfrau von Los Llanos. Sie trägt ihren Namen zu Ehren der Jungfrau von Los Llanos, der Schutzpatronin der Stadt.
