Katalonien Catalonha [kataˈluɲa], spanisch Cataluña [kataˈluɲa]) ist eine Region im Nordosten Spaniens zwischen der Mittelmeerküste und den Pyrenäen.
Politisch ist Katalonien eine von 17 autonomen Gemeinschaften Spaniens und gilt aufgrund geschichtlicher und kultureller Besonderheiten neben dem Baskenland und Galicien als eine der „historischen Autonomen Gemeinschaften“ . Unabhängigkeitsbestrebungen haben in Katalonien große Bedeutung errungen:
