Die Abtei Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa ist eines der ältesten Benediktinerklöster in den französischen Pyrenäen. Sie liegt in 430 m Höhe am Fuße des Canigou, etwa 45 Kilometer westlich von Perpignan, 2 Kilometer südlich von Prades, in der Gemeinde Codalet im Tal des Têt .
Die Abtei ist in mehrfacher Hinsicht von großem Interesse. So lässt sich hier um die Jahrtausendwende der Übergang von der präromanischen Architektur zum premier art roman méridional verfolgen. Ferner hat sich hier zur Ausschmückung der Kirche die erste der großen Werkstätten romanischer Skulptur im Roussillon des 12. Jahrhunderts ausgebildet. Nicht zuletzt veranschaulicht die Abtei das Mäzenatentum der Grafen der Cerdagne auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer Macht.
