Kembs ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 5496 Einwohnern im Département Haut-Rhin in der Region Grand Est .
Cambete oder Cambes lag in römischer Zeit an der Straße von Augusta Raurica nach Argentovaria und wird bereits im Itinerarium Antonini genannt.
Das heutige Kembs liegt im Dreiländereck Deutschland–Frankreich–Schweiz direkt am Canal de Huningue und am Rheinseitenkanal und ist bekannt für das dortige 1932 in Betrieb gegangene Wasserkraftwerk Kembs. Am Zusammenfluss der beiden Kanäle liegt die Schleuse Kembs-Niffer, deren Außengebäude von dem bekannten Architekten Le Corbusier gestaltet wurden.
