Das Heiligtum war ein Treffpunkt und der Ausgangspunkt der Via Turonensis (Turmweg) der Pilgerreise nach Saint Jacques de Compostelle.
Auf der Statue von Saint Jacques befindet sich eine meteorologische Station.
